| Top 10 Toys of the Year | | NEW YORK METRO PARENTS EDITOR SELECTS
TOP 10 TOYS OF THE YEAR
New York (NY) 11/15/07—New York Metro Parents publications today released its list of editor’s picks for the Top 10 Toys of the Year. The appropriate age-range for use of the toys spans newborn to 10 years of age. The winners were selected based on combined criteria of: originality, uniqueness, educational value, safety, and plain old-fashioned fun. New York Metro Parents Editor Judy Antell personally supervised final selections for the list, which will be available in the print publication on Tuesday, November 20h and online at NYMetroParents.com as of Monday, November 19th. A preview of the entire article is attached.
This is the first year that New York Metro Parents has compiled such a list. In a year that has seen a particularly high number of product recalls among children’s toys, NYMP wanted to ensure readers a list of toys that would allow them peace of mind while creating a “wow” factor for their children when opening holiday presents. The Top 10 list will become an annual highlight on NYMP’s editorial calendar.
One of the appeals of the Nintendo DS is its
ease of use by younger players. But there
aren’t always games appropriate for kids as
young as 3. UFO Interactive has a new series, Storybook
DS, based on fairy tales, for kids ages 3-6.
Each $19.99 game has four stories, with a read-aloud
and related games. Kids practice counting, and use
the wand to draw or paint. In The Three Little Pigs,
kids blow into the mic to try to blow the house
down, and can touch different characters to make
them move. At Toys R Us and amazon.com; more
info at www.ufointeractivegames.com.
New York Metro Parents is published by Davler Media Group, which also publishes New York’s City Guide magazine as well as Promenade magazine. New York Metro Parents consists of Big Apple Parent, Brooklyn Parent, Rockland Parent, Queens Parent, and Westchester Parent.
